Be At One Chester is the Stonegate cocktail bar in the basement at 39-41 Watergate Street, with three vaulted rooms, a long cocktail list, happy hour, masterclasses and late weekend hours.
Be At One took over the old Fiesta Havana basement, so the bones are familiar if you have been out in Chester for a while: brick vaults, several rooms, music up, cocktails moving fast and very little interest in being subtle.
The setting is oddly grand for what is basically a party bar. It sits under Bishop Lloyd's House, one of the best buildings on the Rows, then immediately gets on with the business of 2-for-1 cocktails and people shouting along to the chorus.
Worth knowing
It is a Stonegate chain bar in a basement that would probably rather be something stranger and more local. Still, the offer works, the staff know how to handle groups, and Saturday closing time gives it a job independent pubs do not always want.

Grown-up enough for a quieter start; lively enough by Friday night to hold the room. 
Barlounge Barlounge sits on Watergate Street and has been Chester's most-watched bar since March 2000 - arguably the city's original proper cocktail bar, now twenty-five years in. The terrace has a retractable roof and serious heaters, the small plates kitchen is better than it needs to be, and the room runs hot from Friday afternoon through to a busy Sunday lunch. Reliably busy, occasionally a bit of a scene, almost always worth it.
